Northstowe Community Initiatives to Receive £120,000 Investment from Homes England

About 8 miles northwest of Cambridge, a major new project called Northstowe is being built. This project will be very important for the future and will have many new homes, businesses and facilities.

Homes England, the lead developer of the project, has invested heavily in the remaining phases. As such, a new fund called the “Northstow Community Activation Grant Fund” has now been launched.

The fund is intended to help local communities organize new initiatives and events. Over the next two decades, about 25,000 people are expected to live in Northstow. This funding will help create a dynamic and inclusive community for these people.

Investing in Community Vibrancy

The Northstow Grant Fund is offering grants of up to £20,000 per year for the next five years. This grant can be used for:

  • Arts and Culture: Fund local art exhibitions, music events or cultural festivals. To make Northstow richer by bringing people together and building a shared identity.
  • Environmental sustainability: Funding for green spaces, community gardens or initiatives that promote sustainable practices. These funds will help protect our planet and create a clean and healthy environment for our communities.
  • Community building: Funding will be provided for events such as local sports tournaments, community gatherings or workshops organized by residents. These funds will be used to bring people together and make Northstowe a better place.

Building on Existing Strengths

Northstowe is already developing into a beautiful and prosperous community. Over 3,000 residents enjoy great facilities such as the Western Park Sports Pavilion, Cabin Community Centre, allotment and weekly market.

Northstowe Town Council and various community groups are working hard to develop the town. This includes building new homes, repairing roads and creating new parks and playgrounds.

Fostering a Vibrant Future
